A WebQuest on Greek Mythology

The webQuest I put under focus as part of my exploration into zunal.com is “The Greek Mythology” WebQuest, which I found under the category of English and Language. The webQuest included a series of clearly sequenced procedures and tasks aiming to teach the Gods of Olympus to the students by making them research the characters themselves. The design of the webQuest is visually appealing with different graphics used for all the sections. All the parts including introduction, task, process, evaluation and conclusion are listed in a clear and easy – to - understand manner, which adds to the esthetic quality of the webQuest. No broken links were observed regarding the mechanical aspects.

As for the introduction part, the picture and the accompanying questions succeed to get the learners into the lesson although the graphic quality of the picture and the variety of questions are limited. The tasks offered always seek ways to construct on the learners knowledge and relate mythology to their real lives. The final tasks the learners to create their own God or Goddess in the modern times and write an authentic myth about them.

All in all, the use of relevant resources and the clearly stated steps as well as the understandable lay out and cognitively demanding content turns this webQuest into an opportunity to introduces Greek Mythology in the English Lessons.
